Moldovan president announced completion of 100 projects under European Village Program, launch of Express European Village projects

Chisinau, April 25 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu announced today two important things for the development and Europeanization of Moldova - the completion of 100 projects under the European Village Program and the launch of the Express European Village projects.

The presidential press service has reported to the agency that according to Maia Sandu, in almost every second locality in the country, locality development projects are financed by the government, through the European Village Program. "Of the almost 500 projects, 100 have already been completed and almost 100 thousand people enjoy the effects of the European Village program every day. Over 20 thousand people gained access to drinking water, and almost 34 thousand benefit from public lighting. 14 kindergartens were renovated or equipped, 3 high schools and 18 cultural centers were modernized and renovated. We managed to do these things in just one year and we will continue to develop Moldova in the years to come, village by village," the head of state said.

At the same time, the president requested the government to open the call for a new project competition - "Express European Village", which would allow localities to carry out quick projects, in a maximum of 6 months, which cost less and with a simplified registration procedure of the projects in competition. "Through the creation of the European Village Program and the launch of the Express European Village program, we will build Europe here, in Moldova, so that families can live together at home," concluded Maia Sandu.
