Chisinau, April 26 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu was on Tuesday in Palanca, Ștefan Vodă, and talked to people there about the efforts being made to bring the European Union home to us, the presidential press service has reported.
"I spoke to them about the first results of the European Village Program and encouraged them to participate in this program to co-finance the photovoltaic park they want," said the president.
Palanca is the easternmost town of the country, on the border with Ukraine, and since the beginning of the war, the people here have helped hundreds of refugees.
"The locality is a model - the development of business in the community has allowed the local authority to increase the budget and invest in important projects to improve living standards. The culture house, recently renovated, can be an example for other rural localities in the country about what a modern cultural home should look like", said the official.
Maia Sandu also noted that the funds allocated from the state budget complemented the community's efforts - in 2022, 12 km of the R31 - Tudora - Palanca route were repaired. "Such projects build European Moldova and mean concrete things that improve the living conditions of our citizens", the head of state said.
