Memorial plaque dedicated to well-known departed Moldovan composer unveiled in Chisinau

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - A memorial plaque dedicated to the departed composer, Petre Teodorovici, was unveiled on the façade of an apartment building in Chisinau today.
The construction of the memorial plaque has the goal to eternize the memory of Petre Teodorovici – a light music composer and singer.
The plaque’s author is sculptor Ioan Grecu. The memorial plaque shows the image of the composer and an excerpt, put on notes, from the hit titled, Melancolie (Melancholy) by the departed composer.
Petre Teodorovici was born in Leova city in 1950. He studied at the Stefan Neaga College of Music and the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute from Chisinau. The songs composed by Petre Teodorovici enjoyed popularity on stages of music festivals from Romania, Slovakia, Finland, Cuba, Argentina, Italy, Russia. He was awarded the Grand Prix of the Mamaia Festival (Romania) for the song, Maria. Teodorovici was also awarded the honorific title of Master in Art (1989) and the Labour Glory Order (1996).
Composer Petre Teodorovici passed away in Chisinau on 5 July 1997 and was buried at the Central Cemetery on the Armeneasca Street from the capital.
