Moldovan premier has meeting with EU ambassadors for Eastern Partnership

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today met the group of ambassadors for Eastern Partnership, representatives of the European Union member states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials tackled the present situation in Moldova, the cabinet’s priorities, focused on the agenda of the country’s accession to the European Union and the implementation of the reforms aimed at ensuring the citizens’ well-being.
PM Dorin Recean appreciated the financial and technical support provided by the European Union to Moldova. He referred to the support necessary for the country in the full transposition of the EU legislation, consolidation of the defence system and the domestic affairs one. In the context, Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed that the government’s work was focused on the carrying out of those three priorities – ensuring security, economic growth and the justice reform. Also, the authorities put emphasis on the economic development, backing the small- and medium-sized enterprises and identification of new financial instruments for facilitating the access of foreign business people to Moldova’s market.
„We are firmly engaged in the process of implementation of the reforms, in order to bring Europe home. We want to edify European institutions with a European legislation, to ensure the stability and prosperity and prove that our country contributes to the project of peace of a united Europe and provides opportunities to the business environment,’’ PM Dorin Recean noted. .
For their part, the ambassadors for the Eastern Partnership expressed willingness to consistently support the government in the reforms’ promotion: ‘’Our presence in Moldova is a sign of support for the reforms started by the cabinet and the European agenda you fulfill. We are on your side and we will help you in the achievement of all goals set.’’ .
In discussions, the officials also referred to the importance to combat the misinformation, development of energy and infrastructure projects, as well as the organization of the Summit of the European Political Community in Moldova on 1 June.
