PM says European integration becomes strategic goal of Moldova, national priority

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives and graduates of the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies have brought together at a regional forum, titled, Identification and attenuation of challenges for the accession to the European Union. The participants in the event, held in the presence of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Ambassador of the United States Kent D. Logsdon and Ambassador of Germany Margret Uebber, discussed the agenda of European integration of the Black Sea states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.        

The PM appreciated the contribution of the Marshall Centre, United States and Germany to Moldova’s development and the consistent and firm support of the country’s European aspirations, the fulfillment of which has become a strategic goal and a national priority. ‘’We  committed to edify a state which can produce well-being for its citizens, which will have resilient institutions and will be member of the great family of the European Union,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.  

Those 39 participants from Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Germany and the United States considered the experience of Romania and Bulgaria in the process of accession to EU. At the same time, representatives of the countries candidates for integration into the European Union referred to the challenges faced by the states in the effort to become full-fledged members. They also analyzed opportunities of consolidating the capacities of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, for the countries to speed up their European integration.
