Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has hosted a delegation of foreign affairs ministers from the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) format, which comprises Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania and Norway.

The meeting represented a valuable opportunity to discuss the country’s European integration and the significant progress achieved in this field, described in Moldova’s contribution to the EU’s Enlargement Report.

„We also referred to ways of consolidating the bilateral dialogue, including in the economic sector. I reiterated that our markets is a sure one and we are quite open to all European companies willing to invest in Moldova. For our part, we are ready to export more products on the European market, especially given that we are to sign the commercial agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

The Swedish Presidency of the EU Council, the Presidency of Iceland at the Council of Europe, the coordination of the NB8 group by Latvia, as well as the hosting of the second Summit of the European Political Community in Chisinau represent events of major importance, which bring us closer to EU.

In the end, I thanked my counterparts for the fact that their countries are with Moldova’s citizens and they firmly support us in our European integration,’’ the Moldovan official said.
