Moldovan PM has meeting with local public authorities from central district

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - The visit to the central Orhei district by Prime Minister Dorin Recean has ended with a discussion with the local public authorities and representatives of de-concentrated services, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The mayors set forth more problems faced, referring to the urgent need of afforesting the degraded plots of land, construct roads, increase the salaries in the public sector, manage waste, establish compulsoriness of maintaining and taxation of the use of water basins on common areas. The PM touched upon the importance of re-dimensioning and strengthening the local public authorities’ autonomy.     

„We are set, through the process of decentralization and reformation of the local public authorities, to provide more financial resources, in order to enhance the settlements’ potential to develop. There are numerous problems locally, which, unfortunately, are growing because of the lack of coordination and politicizing of subjects. The Orhei district council discriminates according to the political criterion, when it comes to the allocation of resources. The government will intervene in these cases, in order to back the local communities. I urge you to make a permanent exchange of information and to preserve an active communication, so that you manage to join efforts and intervene, to act in the interest of the citizens,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
