Chisinau, April 28 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean received eight foreign ministers from the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), which includes: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland and Denmark. The heads noted that the NB8 joint visit represents a strong political support of the Nordic and Baltic countries for the irreversible European path of the Republic of Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Recean emphasized the importance of the support from each state of the NB8 format for advancing the agenda of reforms and modernization of our country for the benefit of citizens, by ensuring economic growth, fighting corruption, reforming the justice system and increasing the well-being of the population. He spoke about the internal measures to ensure peace, stability and security of citizens.

"The clear choice, supported by the people, is integration into the European Union. Above all, however, we must work to make our country a modern state, with strong institutions, fair justice and a resilient society, so that we get closer to European standards, and our citizens feel at home, anywhere in Europe. We will need all the support of our European friends for the accelerated transformation of the Republic of Moldova", he said.

European officials appreciated the authorities' determination to face the impact of the hybrid war to which the Republic of Moldova is exposed, to effectively manage the humanitarian and energy crisis and to ensure security and stability in the region, including by launching the partnership mission with EU in the context of the Common Security and Defence Policy.
