For May, Energocom to procure 290 thousand MWh from MGRES

Chisinau, April 28 /MOLDPRES/- For May, Energocom company will procure 290 thousand MWh from the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant in the Transnistrian region (MGRES), which represents 92% of the electricity requirement. The price is 66 dollars/MWh, agreed last month for a period of six months.

The rest of the required electricity will be purchased from Ukrhidroenergo, a preliminary total volume of 30 thousand MWh. The price for daytime hours is 95 dollars/MWh, and for night hours - 55 dollars/MWh. This is the first contract signed by  Energocom that has separate prices for day and night hours.

Energocom noted that if necessary, during peak hours, the company will be able to purchase energy from the Romanian OPCOM exchange, as the Romanian company SN Nuclearelectrica SA has scheduled maintenance works.

In late March, Energocom signed a new contract, for half a year, for the purchase of electricity from MGRES. The price is 66 dollars/MWh, seven dollars less than the previous one.
