Chisinau, April 28 /MOLDPRES/- The decision on vacancy in the MP mandate was published in the Official Journal today.
According to the document, under art. 69 (2) and art. 120 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, as well as of art. 2 (7) from Law no. 39/1994 on the status of the Member of Parliament, the Parliament adopts this decision: the Decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal dated April 13, 2023, pronounced regarding MP Ilan Shor, by which he was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in art. 190 (5) and art. 243 (3) b) from the Criminal Code no. 985/2002, being sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 15 years, with the execution of the sentence in a closed penitentiary. It is noted that the mandate of Mr. Ilan Shor as a deputy in the Parliament has been legally terminated.
According to the decision, a deputy mandate in the Parliament, which belongs to the Shor Political Party, is declared vacant.
On April 13, after two days of judicial debates, the Chisinau Court of Appeal pronounced the decision in the Shor file, which is part of the Bank fraud file, by which Ilan Shor was found guilty and was definitively sentenced to 15 years of prison, in a closed penitentiary, with the deprivation of the right to hold positions in the banking system for a period of five years. According to the decision, Ilan Shor is to return more than 5.2 billion lei (260 million euros).
