Moldovan president has meeting with Portuguese secretary of state for European Affairs

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Secretary of State for European Affairs of Portugal Tiago Antunes. The officials discussed the Moldovan-Portuguese bilateral relations and the deepening of the cooperation in fields of common interest, such as the one of renewable energy and information technologies, as well as the economic sector, the presidential press service has reported.

President Maia Sandu thanked the Portuguese authorities for the support provided to get the status of country candidate for EU.

The head of state also said that Moldova was further relying on Portugal’s backing in the starting of the negotiations on accession to the European Union, stressing that Moldova’s future is in the family of European states.
