Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - An oxygen production station has been set at the Clinical Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedy from Chisinau. The equipment was bought with the financial support of Japan’s government, within the Kusanone Programme of Grants for Human Security.
According to the Health Ministry, due to the new station, the institution will have a permanent source of oxygen and compressed air – medical gas delivered with constant pressure in seven sections. The generator produces 17 cubic metres of medical oxygen in one hour, with a high level of purity, which is distributed to plugs from sections through a new copper tube.
Physicians said the medical gas was important in the case of patients who need oxygen therapy, assisted breathing, as well as during surgical interventions. The institution has been earlier using cylinders, to supply the sections with oxygen.
The cost of the oxygen production station is of about 100,000 dollars – non-refundable financial assistance provided by the Japanese government.
