Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- Promulgation decree and law amending the law No279/2017 on informing consumer about food products were published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

The document sees that the labels will include as mandatory details about allergens and presence or absence of gluten in food. Also, the country of origin or place of provenance of the primary ingredient will be indicated, which is not the same as the country of origin or the specified place of provenance of the food product. At the same time, poultry, pork, meat preparations or meat products, as well as eggs for consumption will be labeled with the words "Fed without genetically modified organisms" or "Fed without GMOs".

This law enters into force at the expiration of 6 months from the date of publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
