Moldovan consume less natural gas in last April

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - As much as 45.7 million cubic metres of natural gas was consumed in last April, which is by 2.1 per cent less against the same period of the year before. At the same time, this indicator decreased by 19 million cubic metres or by about 29.4 per cent against March 2023.   

According to Moldovagaz stock company, in last April, decision-makers recalculated for over 5,000 household consumers the compensation for the consumption of natural gas from the previous months for the 2022-2023 cold period, amounting to 2.3 million lei (115,000 euros). Additionally, the volume of compensations recalculated stood at 1.3 million lei for 3,880 household consumers from the associations of lodgers, depending on the category of energy vulnerability assigned.    

On the concerned period, 526 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network, as the debts of possessors were of 3.9 million lei. At the same time, the condition of preventive payment was applied for 174 consumers, as a result of the earlier ceasing of the supply of natural gas for the non-payment of the equivalent value of the natural gas consumed on term.    

Data by Moldovagaz shows that the level of payment of the consumption of natural gas on 30 April this year is 92.7 per cent and is worth 6.732 billion lei for the volume supplied.
