Folk music band from Chisinau gives concert in Vienna

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - The folk music band from Chisinau, made up of four instrumentalists virtuosos from the Moldovan capital, has recently given a concert financially backed by the Vienna city hall, in cooperation with the MoldWien Association (Moldovans’ Community from Vienna).
According to the event’s organizer, Maria Bunea, the concert took place in a concert hall from the Austrian capital. The musicians sang a vast schedule of traditional music from more folk areas of the Romanian nation. The schedule includes also several Vienna songs – a friendship gesture appreciated by the Austrian audience with much warmth. Attending the concert were representatives of Moldova’s Embassy in Austria, local authorities and non-governmental organizations.
Attending the event, Moldovan Ambassador to Austria Mihaela Mocanu stressed the importance of promoting the national culture abroad in the process of Moldova’s European integration. She noted that Austria had always been a reliable partner in this cause.
The folk band’s mastership and the repertoire sung impressed the Vienna audience and raised the entire concert hall. On 19-20 May, the folk music band from Chisinau will be in Japan, where it will represent Moldova at the International Chamber Music Competition, in Osaka, Festa section.
