Mechanism of prosecutors' evaluation to be changed in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - A draft law aimed at improving the mechanism of selection, evaluation and disciplinary liability of prosecutors has been voted by 56 lawmakers in the first reading.

The main provisions of the document regard the consolidation of the independence of the prosecutors’ Inspection and its switch from the subordination of the Prosecutor’s General Office to the one of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP); merging of the College for the selection and career of prosecutors and of the College of assessing the prosecutors’ performances, in order to consolidate the mechanisms of selection and evaluation of the prosecutors’ performances; revision of CSP’s composition.
