Commission for Emergency Situations approved new measures to ensure social, food and information security

Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- Allocation of 8.4 million lei from the government's intervention fund to Șoldănești town hall for the repair of a block of flats was approved at today's meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations. The building, commissioned during the Soviet period with large deviations from quality standards was damaged following the earthquake of last November, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The financial means will be used to restore the integrity of the block, thermal insulation of the facades and repair of the roof of the building, so that the tenants are in maximum safety. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will submit a draft decision in this regard for approval and the Ministry of Finance will allocate the necessary financial means.
Also, at the CSE meeting, some aspects were clarified regarding how to grant and suspend the status of insured person for beneficiaries of temporary protection, who will be employed. In the case of employment, they will have the status of an insured person, without obtaining the right of temporary residence for work purposes. Ukrainian refugees who are not employed will continue to benefit from the guaranteed social package through the temporary protection mechanism, approved by the Government, as part of the authorities' effort to support Ukrainian refugees affected by the consequences of the Russian Federation's brutal war against Ukraine.
Also today, CSE members approved the establishment of the European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM Moldova), under the auspices of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP). The mission will contribute to strengthening the resilience of Moldova's security sector in the field of crisis management and hybrid threats, including cyber security and countering foreign information manipulation and interference.
Until an Agreement with the EU on the status of the Mission is negotiated and signed, its employees, premises, assets and funds will benefit from the privileges and immunities applicable to diplomatic missions.
