Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Joint Control Commission (JCC) continue to monitor the situation in the Security Zone through the light of observance of the regime established and the work of all mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation at Dniester, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The participants in a weekly meeting held in Bender resumed discussions on the illegal posts of the Transnistrian power wielding structures. At the same time, the Moldovan delegation insisted on the taking of a decision due to establish the compulsoriness of removing the illegal posts and their fortification constructions from the Security Zone.
Also, Moldova’s delegation demanded the starting of investigations at the level of the Joint Military Command on the provoking behavior of a commandant from the military contingent of Russia’s Joint Peacekeeping Forces. On 7 May this year, he came to the Serpeni Bridgehead memorial, where a public event was held and was wearing on his uniform elements which are not seen in the acts of the Joint Control Commission and are banned by Moldova’s legislation. These provocative actions were followed by a string of manipulating commentaries in mass media, in a failed attempt to pas responsibility to representatives of law-enforcement authorities.
In the context, Chisinau’s delegates submitted a declaration, thereby calling on the components of the Joint Control Commission to renounce counter-productive approaches, useless confrontations and other actions able to tense even more the working atmosphere on the JCC’s platform.
It is worth mentioning that the incident is examined by Moldova’s law-enforcement bodies, in accordance with the national legislation.
