Moldovan PM says government set to enhance efficiency of consultation process, decision-making transparency

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean expressed the cabinet’s visions as to the boosting of the cooperation between the governmental institutions and the civil society at an annual conference titled, Cooperation between the parliament and the civil society, held at the parliament’s session hall today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In a speech given at the event’s inauguration, the PM referred to a more active involvement of the civil society in the decision-making process, including in the context of the process of adaptation of the national policies to the European Union’s standards.
„The civil society stayed at the basis of our state’s democratization. Due to your support, we have presently an open and democratic society. Our strategic direction is the integration into the European Union and the civil society’s involvement in this process is essential on three dimensions. First of all, we ask you to more attentively monitor the government’s work, as this will bring even more discipline and transparency to our actions. Also, it is important that you turn to good account the experience and technical potential for the promotion of certain regulations, as well as for a more active communication with citizens on the policies adopted by the cabinet,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
Over 100 representatives of the civil society participated in the conference; their goal is to optimize the communication and cooperation with the associative sector and identify good practices for enhancing the transparency on behalf of the governance through the involvement of the non-profit sector.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, MPs, diplomats, ministries’ representatives took part in the event.
The annual conference, Cooperation between the parliament and the civil society, will continue today and will include three sessions of discussions on priority directions of cooperation between the parliament, government and the civil society, as well as the role of the civil society in the promotion and monitoring of the Moldova’s European agenda. The event is broadcast live on the Facebook page of the parliament, government and on the website, www.privesc.eu.
