Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - A company from Romania, which works in the sector of collection and neutralization of medical and chemical waste, extends its activity in Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba has made statements to this effect.

The company has an experience of 30 years in the neutralization of medical and chemical waste, managing eight factories in Romania.

„Good news at the end of the week! A new investor comes to Moldova. It is about the Romanian company Sterileco. And on 18 July the first step was made to this end: the company was registered at the Public Services Agency,’’ Dumitru Alaiba informed.

He said that the coming of Sterileco to Moldova did not mean only new jobs, but also the improvement of the management of dangerous waste. ‘’We are happy that the first market chosen for extension is Moldova,’’ the deputy PM noted.

The Investments Agency of Moldova said that Sterileco was leader in the industry of medical waste. It has a vast portfolio of clients and manages considerable flows of waste generated by hospitals, clinics and sanitary institutions, both public and private.

„On 18 July, Sterileco was officially registered at the Public Services Agency, but started analyzing the local market back in last March, preparing for this important extension,’’ the quoted source added.

Romania is on the first position among the main investors of Moldova, with about 1,600 enterprises with Romanian capital recorded and investments in the registered share capital totaling about 6.74 billion lei.
