MOLDOVAN GOVERNMENT EDIFIES: Medieval bathing house, protection wall from Old Orhei nature reserve to be opened for visitors

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The rehabilitation and construction works at the Old Orhei Cultural and Nature Reserve are close to the end. They are part of a regional development project backed by Moldova’s government through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL), with an investment of 30 million lei (1.5 million euros).     

According to the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), the restoration of the medieval Tartar bathing house discovered brought to light the old pavement and the works are in full swing. ‘’At the same time, the way of access to the Butuceni Promontory has been already finished and equipped with a modern illumination system, turning the area into a magic place also during night-time and the multifunctional conference centre, which will serve also as administrative block, will be ready soon,’’ the quoted source noted.     

Also, the protection Wall, reconstituted based on historical documents, will provide visitors a visualization of the area’s past. At the entrance into the Reserve, topic-related exhibitions will be periodically organized.   

According to the reserve’s administration, the number of tourists is continuously growing and the interest in the organization of national events has significantly increased.   

The project is implemented by ADR Centru, the contractor represents the Association: Commercial Company RESTACO Ltd and Pro Ex 2005 Ltd. ‘’Tourists are expected to discover the new changes and enjoy the history and beauty of Old Orhei,’’ ADR Centru added.
