Moldovan deputy parliament speaker says Moldova well-prepared for process of accession to European Union

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is both well-prepared for the process of accession, we have administrative capacity and we have quite dedicated people in each institution, who do their job well. Deputy Parliament Speaker Doina Gherman has made statements to this effect at a joint news conference with a European MP from Romania, Siegfried Muresan, who is president of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Moldova.
The deputy parliament speaker said that the Moldovan governance maintained its political will and the commitment for the European integration way of Moldova.
„This is a firm commitment, backed by concrete and real reforms. The Government, Parliament, Presidency take absolutely all efforts, in order to modernize and develop the state. We firmly consolidate the institutions and prepare with greatest seriousness for the European integration and for the process of accession to the European Union,’’ Gherman said.
The deputy speaker also said that, in this European integration process, not only the European Union made effort for Moldova, but also Moldova actively contributed to the EU’s stability and security. ‘’We, in Moldova, have managed to preserve the peace and this means a stronger, safer and more prosperous Union,’’ Doina Gherman noted.
European lawmaker Siegfried Muresan gave assurances that he would work together with the Moldovan authorities, in order to impel the European agenda of Moldova.
„I am sure that Moldova is prepared for integration. We see and administratively a lot of work is carried out and I would like to congratulate the Chisinau authorities on the fact that, in the last years, they have managed to get these integration steps in a record time. I congratulate them on the fact that they are a reliable partner for EU and on the fact that they represent the citizens’ interests resolutely and with dignity,’’ Muresan added.
MEP Siegfried Muresan is on a visit to Chisinau just one day after his reelection to the position of president of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Moldova.
