Moldovan, Greek officials broach European agenda, bilateral ties

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Iulian Groza today met Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s communication and media relations service has reported.

The officials discussed the European agenda of Moldova, oin the context of enforcing the Association Agreement with EU. deputy Minister Iulian Groza thanked the Greek side for the backing of Moldova's European integration by the government of Greece. He highlighted the two great achievements in this respect - liberalisation of the visa regime and signing the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. "The European integration process is the best engine for modernising Moldova," the Moldovan diplomat said. 

For his part, the Greek official reiterated the Athens authorities’ support for the goal of European integration of Moldova. At the same time, the two officials opted for boosting the bilateral trade exchanges.

Also, the sides exchanged opinions on the situation in the region.
