Romanian president's congratulatory message for Maia Sandu

Chisinau, Dec. 24 /MOLDPRES/- Romanian President Klaus Iohannis today congratulated Maia Sandu on swearing-in as President of the Republic of Moldova.
In a message published on a social network, Cotroceni leader wrote that Romania and the Republic of Moldova will continue to work for well-being, stability, European values, resilience and democracy.
"Congratulations to President Maia Sandu, who today took the oath for the second term in office as President of the Republic of Moldova. Romania and Moldova will continue to work for well-being, stability, European values, resilience and democracy!", Iohannis emphasized.
Maia Sandu took the oath as President of the Republic of Moldova and took office today. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau.
This makes Maia Sandu the first woman head of state and the sixth President of the Republic of Moldova. She became the first president elected by the people to win two terms.
The term of office of the President of the Republic of Moldova is four years, starting from the date of swearing in.
