Moldovan Liberal Democrats give assurances of education reform's continuation

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, and the education minister, who was released from his duties, Maia Sandu at a today's news briefing unveiled the pillars for a qualitative education, contained in the PLDM electoral platform - Plan 2020. 

The PLDM leader reminded the steps undertaken so far, which started the education reform, and stressed that the process would continue. "Each year, the salaries of the teachers will be increased, so that we gradually get closer to the European standards; we will pay special attention to the vocational education; we will create better conditions and opportunities for pupils and students, such as mobility programmes," Vlad Filat specified.     

Maia Sandu said the Plan 2020 of PLDM implied a fundamental transformation of the education system. "We have carried out more projects on infrastructure's restoration. We managed to approve the new Education Code.  Moreover, we have initiated the process of revising the curriculum and started creating a quality assessment system. We will continue ensuring a correct evaluation of the examinations, without frauds and cheating. We will change the model of government of universities and will create access for all children with special education requirements," Maia Sandu added.
