Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has gone up 19 positions in the World Business Environment Ranking, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

"Moldova has made a significant leap - it reached the 63rd position, going up 19 positions. It even surpassed European Union member countries, which is nothing but  the fruit of the work of the government backed by the parliamentary majority", said Prime Minister Iurie Leanca with reference to the annual report of the World Bank,  Doing Business.

The prime minister also said that the government had been committed to improving the business environment's activity. "More than a year ago, we launched a roadmap where we clearly sketched how to improve the business environment to change the things that did not work well, either it was about issuing building permits, or connecting to energy services. We still have a lot to do, even the 63rd position, which we have got, does not represent the limit of our possibilities. We will continue to communicate with the business environment, we will identify the system-related problems, as well as solutions. From my point of view, this report is very relevant for us", said the prime minister.

The World Bank published the report titled "Doing Business 2015". Thus, Moldova ranks 63rd amongst the 189 countries evaluated, with an overall score of 66.60. As for the neighbouring countries, Romania ranks 48th, while Ukraine ranks 96th. In the 2014 report, Moldova ranked 82nd.
