Moldovan PM attends Wine Festival in Gagauzia

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/- Winemakers from southern Moldova presented production at the Wine Festival, held in Comrat on 2 November. Attending the event was Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“This is a
great event not only for the southern part of the country, but also for the entire country, as
it contributes to promoting and improving the quality of our wine. The festival is
important also to develop the culture of wine consumption on domestic market,” Leanca said.
For his
part, Gagauzian Bashkan Mihail Formuzal said the festival had become known
abroad. “This year, we have guests from 14 states at the festival,” he noted.
At the event, Leanca
handed the keys to six mini-buses for lyceums from Gagauzia. The
vehicles are part of donation offered by the Romanian government.
The
festival brought together hundreds of visitors in Comrat. They were able to
taste not only wines, but also traditional dishes from Gagauzia.
An open air
concert was given there, with artists from Moldova and Belarus. The Wine
Day is marked in Comrat every year on the first Sunday of November.
