Enterprises from both banks of Dniester participate in international exhibition in Bulgaria

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/- Tens enterprises from both banks of the Dniester participate with a collective stand in an international specialized exhibition in food industry – “INTERFOOD & DRINKS”, held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 5-8 November. Bakery and confectionery goods, dairy products, soft drinks, honey and bee products have been staged at the exhibition.
The
Moldovan companies’ participation in the event is organized by the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (CCI), financially supported by EU and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), within
the Supporting to Confidence Building Measures programme. The action's goal is to contribute to
promoting local companies on the EU market, facilitate the exchange of
experience, know-how transfer and initiation of new cooperation contacts.
The head of
the CCI’s Fairs and Exhibitions Department, Marina Petrov, said product tastings would be organized and bilateral business meetings would be held at the common stand of Moldovan enterprises.
Data by the National Statistics Bureau shows that, in January-August 2014, the trade
exchanges between Moldova and Bulgaria stood at 75.5 million dollars, down by
5.4 per cent against the same period of 2013. In the first 8 months of 2014, the
export of Moldovan goods to Bulgaria amounted to 26.8 million dollars ,increasing by 33.3 per cent against the same period of 2013. In January-August,
the import of goods from Bulgaria in Moldova was estimated at 48.6 million
dollars, which is by 18.4 per cent less against the same period of the last year.
Financially supported by the EU-UNDP Supporting Confidence to Building Measures programme, starting from early 2014, 47 economic agents from both banks of Dniester have participated in specialised exhibitions in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, France and Romania.
