Lithuania open to support Moldova's European integration

Chisinau, 6 November / MOLDPRES / - Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Economics Andrian Candu had a meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador to Moldova Rimantas Latakas. The two officials discussed the Moldova's energy security, trade ties, and other priority issues on the bilateral agenda, the Economics Ministry's information and media communication service has reported.
The deputy prime minister said Moldova could be inspired from the experience of Lithuania in terms of energy security. "We want to take over the Lithuanian model of diversify the energy resources. We could inspire from the experience you have gained while constructing the gas pipeline. We want to extend the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline to Chisinau," Andrian Candu said.
For his part, the Lithuanian ambassador expressed willingness to made available the needed information to this end.
Also, Rimantas Latakas emphasised that Lithuania was open for supporting the European integration of Moldova. In this context, the diplomat said the investors from Lithuania showed increased interest in opportunities provided by Moldova. "More and more business people are attracted by Moldova, are interested in the local business climate," the ambassador said.
"The Moldovan producers know that they must speed up in terms of preparing the goods for the European Union's market. Therefore, we can create a joint agenda, which would provide for exchanging experience between business people from Lithuania and Moldova," Andrian Candu added.
