Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Joint Control Commission (JCC) held its ordinary meeting on 6 November, chaired by the co-head of the Russian delegation, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The Moldovan delegation reiterated its concern about the Transnistrian law-enforcement bodies maintaining the practice of creating groundless obstacles to the free movement of people in the Security Zone (SZ), as well as fostering the control on Moldovans who live in the security zone and work in mayoralties of Moldova and representatives of the peacekeeping missions.
In this respect, the Moldovan representatives proposed to include on the agenda the issue of ensuring the free movement of citizens in the Security Zone. Yet, the Transnistrian side categorically rejected the proposal, which again led to obstruction of the approval of the agenda.
Moreover, Moldova's delegation drew the attention to the fact that the commission's work continued to be hindered because at the JCC's meeting from 26 June and 3 July 2014, the Transnistrian representatives insisted on the approval of the introduction of an additional military contingent in Bender town, which run counter the JCC decisions and would destabilise the situation in Bender (District with increased security regime).
Over the lack of consensus, the Russian delegation co-chair proposed to suspend the meeting and resume talks at the next JCC session due on 13 November.
