Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - Members and supporters of the Moldovan Party of Communists (PCRM) today commemorated the 97th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution.
They conducted a rally and laid flowers at the monument to Vladimir Lenin from Chisinau. PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin attended the event. He gave a speech before those present at the rally.
"We must acknowledge more important things pertaining to our history, as well as our development outlook today. This revolution was not accidental, but was well-prepared. This revolution united all the residents of Russia. It is important that these principles and the theory of the revolution be taken over by other countries with positive results", said Vladimir Voronin.
A coup d'etat organised by the Bolshevik party took place in Petrograd (now St. Petersburg, Russia) on the night of 7 November 1917.
