Moldovan government approves new border police management strategy

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved the Border Integrated Management Strategy for 2015 - 2017. The document reinforces the reform efforts made by implementing the Action Plan on visa liberalisation with the European Union, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The draft relates to the prevention and combating of illegal migration and cross-border crime, in accordance with European standards. The Compatibility, Interoperability, Integration Strategy contains measures to achieve a high level of control of the state border to ensure border security with the EU and Ukraine.

An additional sum of 116.6 million lei to the provided financial allocations will be requested to carry out this action plan. A sum of 2.4 million euros is provided from the budget support given by the EU in the context of visa liberalisation and approximately 46.2 million euros were provided in the foreign assistance projects.
