Moldovan government to provide one-off allowances to construct, purchase dwellings, restore old houses

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a decision on earmarking  financial means for the construction of an individual house, a cooperative dwelling or for purchasing dwelling space or restoring old houses. To this end, one-off allowances will be provided to certain categories of citizens. The stipulated sum is 3.5 million lei, the government's communication and media relations department has reported. 

Finance Minister Anatol Arapu has said the allowances could be received by the citizens who had not benefited from preferential credits and were not provided with dwellings till 22 October 2014, those holding guarantee letters issued by local authorities till 1 January 2010 and those who did not have guarantee letters, starting from 1 January 2014. 

The financial means are allocated from the state budget, via transfers to budgets of the second-level administrative and territorial units, within the limit of the allocations annually seen on this purpose. 

The list of beneficiaries of one-off allowances were established by special commissions of the local public administration, and were subsequently submitted to the Finance Ministry. Thus, as much as 3,510,700 lei will be earmarked from the state budget to 92 beneficiaries. 

A sum of 10.5 million lei is provided for in the 2014 state budget to enforce this decision.
