remains alone, without support and allies”. “The situation around Ukraine
represents a test for security from Europe. We back the territorial integrity of
all the countries of our Eastern neighbourhood”, she noted. Vice President of
Baltic Assembly Giedrè Purvaneckienè said “we must keep on the international agenda
the resolution on settlement of conflicts in the GUAM member states”.
GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili said that presently, “we are witnessing
a change in the world that has been planned by someone whose future plans are unknown for us as yet”. “I think that, by our solidarity and collaboration, we will
contribute to improving this situation”, he concluded.
The meeting will end on 11 November, when a communiqué and a joint declaration
of MPs representing GUAM, Baltic Assembly and Polish Parliament will be adopted.
In 2014, Moldova holds the rotating presidency of GUAM and GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, which is to
be taken over by Ukraine. The Moldovan parliament hosted the GUAM PA meeting in
2006 too.
