Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Wines produced by students and masters from the Nisporeni-based Professional School will be found in stores in South Korea soon. According to Headmaster Dumitru Lupei, two thousand bottles of wine will be exported to this market this week.

This will be possible after two wines produced at the school winery obtained medals at the International Wine competition in Asia. These belong to the Crescendo brand, and are the Chardonnay 2012 wine, which won the gold medal, and the Pinot Noir 2011 wine, which received the silver medal.

Much of the production is obtained from the two hectares of vineyards of Feteasca Neagra and Pinot Noir varieties. Overall, the school produces five varieties of wine: Feteasca Neagra, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rose wines. Thus, students are taught how to properly cultivate the vines, produce quality wine and develop their own businesses.

In the future, the management of the educational institution aims to include the professional school's winery in the Drumul Vinului (Wine Road) tour in Moldova. To this effect, around 750,000 euros will be allocated from the Filiera Vinului programme funds. Besides training winemakers, the investment will be directed toward planting another 10 acres of grapevines.

According to the Education Ministry data, another project to be implemented at the Nisporeni-based Professional School provides setting up a bee-keeping centre. The project will be conducted in collaboration with the Netherlands. Approximately 100 bee-keepers in Nisporeni will benefit from the services of this centre.

Around 300 students are studying at the Nisporeni-based Professional School.
