Moldovan speaker to attend European parliament's meeting

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Igor Corman pays an official visit to Brussels on 12-14 November 2014, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Corman will
attend a plenary meeting of the European Parliament on 13 November, when the
Association Agreement with Moldova will be ratified.
Also, the
speaker will have meetings with European Parliament Speaker Martin Schulz,
Rapporteur of European Parliament for Association Agreement between Moldova and
the EU Petras
Auštrevičius, President
of parliamentary Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats
Gianni Pittella, as well as the head of the Delegation of EU-Moldova
Parliamentary Committee Andi Cristea.
The main
issues are related to Moldova’s European integration and implementation of the
Association Agreement.
The
Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament approved, by a majority
of votes, the ratification of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement on 16 October.
So far, the Association Agreement has been ratified by the parliaments of seven
EU member states: Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta and Slovakia.
The Moldovan parliament ratified the Association Agreement on 2 July 2014.
