Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/- During a 13 November meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), representatives from Tiraspol proved an insolent behavior and tendentious attitude towards the Moldovan delegation’s position, which reiterated the need to set on the agenda the issue related to free movement of citizens in the Security Zone and to carry out equidistant monitoring of the Security Zone, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The
Transnistrian delegation categorically rejected the proposals, as it is not
within the competence of the commission. Moreover, some articles of the “Agreement
on peaceful settlement of military conflict in Transnistrian region” signed on
21 July 1992, the commission’s basic documents and Moldovan constitutional
bodies’ activity have been tendentiously interpreted.
To unlock
the JCC work, the sides agreed to hold additional consultations at the level of
co-heads, OSCE Mission and Ukrainian representatives to approach issues related
to monitoring the Security Zone and free movement of citizens.
Also, the
Moldovan delegation touched upon the parliamentary polls from Moldova, due on
30 November 2014, asking the delegations and representatives in commission
non-admission of eventual incidents and provocative actions in the
responsibility area of peacekeeping forces, as well as cooperation with the law
enforcement bodies in ensuring the public order in the Security Zone/
The next
meeting of the JCC will be held on 20 November.
