Moldovan president congratulates new Romanian president for his victory in presidential elections

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti today had a telephone conversation with Romanian President-elect Klaus Iohannis, congratulating him on the victory in the presidential elections, the presidency's press service has reported.

Nicolae Timofti expressed confidence that the relations of friendship and understanding between Moldova and Romania, which experienced a strong rise in recent years, would continue to develop with the same intensity for the benefit of both countries' citizens.

The president said he was convinced that during President Klaus Iohannis' mandate, Romania would achieve success in strengthening the rule of law, would become stronger and more prosperous.

President Nicolae Timofti invited the Romanian president to pay a visit to Chisinau. Klaus Iohannis accepted the invitation.
