Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- The oil companies will reduce the prices for petrol and diesel by 20-30 bani per liter. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu made the statement after a meeting with representatives of companies.
Cheapening of fuel will occur on lower oil prices at international exchanges.
Candu also said he would hold talks with governor of the National Bank of Moldova to see the forecasts on the evolution of the exchange rate. Olimen say that although the oil price is decreasing, they have to keep the price for fuel due to depreciation of national currency against dollar.
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca asked during the last week cabinet meeting a more substantial reduction in prices for oil products in Moldova. The cut in prices for petrol and diesel earlier carried out in Moldova by about 50 bani per liter was "cosmetic" and it does not reflect all tendencies on the world oil market, the premier said.
