Moldovan minister, Austrian businessmen tackle cooperation, projects, support

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Regional Development and Construction Minister Anatolie Zolotcov met a group of Austrian businessmen on 17 November, willing to expand their investment area to Moldova, the Regional Development and Construction Ministry's (MDRC) press service has reported


"We are in Moldova in the context of the visit of Austrian President Heinz Fischer. The economic delegation's goal is to develop Moldova's infrastructure and regionally develop it. We discussed the financial possibilities of Austria for the regional development and constructions sectors in Moldova, including the joint points for developing technologies in constructions," Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian embassy to Moldova Rudolf Lukavsky said. 

For his part, Anatolie Zolotcov highlighted the most important projects implemented with the support of the Austrian partners and thanked the Austrian government for the support and willingness to cooperate. "Thanks to the Austrian partners, we have a training centre of specialists in constructions, the single one in Moldova. Also with Austria's support, about 50 houses for bad-hit people from settlements of the Hincesti district, who have suffered as a result of floods, were built in 2010. Also with the support of these partners, the drinking water and sewerage networks, road infrastructure from Nemteni village, Hincesti, were constructed," Zolotcov said. 

The sides also approached the Austrian companies producing construction materials willing to provide the Moldovan market with new and modern construction technologies, including restoring pipes without digging. In the context, MDRC representatives pointed out the most important social projects launched by the ministry, which could be carried out with the investors' support.
