Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - For the parliamentary elections scheduled for 30 November, voters abroad will sign for refraining from direct multiple voting in the electoral lists. The Central Election Commission (CEC) took a decision to this effect today.
Thus, the basic electoral lists and the additional ones for the polling stations abroad will have a new column that will read as follows: "I sign, according to article 53, paragraph (3 prime) of the Election Code and declare on oath that I shall abstain from multiple voting".
According to CEC, Moldovan citizens abroad with the right to vote will sign their names in the electoral list twice: first for the statement on abstaining from multiple voting as well as for a member of the electoral office handing them the ballot paper.
A number of 95 polling stations were opened abroad for the parliamentary elections on 30 November. Their addresses are available on the CEC website (www.cec.md) and on www.voteaza.md.
