Largest business incubator launched in central Moldovan district

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - A new business incubator was launched in Nisporeni today. It is the eighth business incubator in Moldova, and one more will be launched by the end of the year.

According to the Economics Ministry’s information and media communication service, the incubator will initially accommodate 18 young companies, mainly providing services, subsequently achieving a total capacity of 30 places. Thus, at least 62 new jobs will be created at Nisporeni, 14 of which are for women.

The Nisporeni-based Business Incubator's goal is to provide support to novice entrepreneurs in the region. Resident companies will benefit from production spaces or moderately priced offices, consultancy and business training, consultative support for the purchase of equipment, reduced administration costs and other facilities.

Attending the opening ceremony, Head of EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola said that "these are real possibilities for people who have business ideas to turn them into reality. Entrepreneurship is very close to the principles of the European Union - is means being your own boss and creating your own comfort."

"During the four years we managed to open seven incubators with the support of the European Union, the on in Nisporeni being the eight one. We will open one more by the end of this year. At the same time, I want to say that today we are witnessing the opening of the largest incubator in Moldova", said Organisation for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development General Director Iulia Iabanji.

The Nisporeni-based Business Incubator was created under the Policy Matrix for the Economic Stimulation in Rural Areas Sector Policy Support Programme, "funded by the EU, in line with the priorities of the Moldovan government to create a suitable business support infrastructure, especially in rural areas.

Business Incubators were also opened in the following Moldovan districts: Soroca, Stefan-Voda, Leova, Rezina, Singerei, Dubasari and Ceadir-Lunga. Furthermore, the Network of Business Incubators in Moldova (RIAM) was established in December 2013.
