Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/- The Strategy on education development for 2014-2020 "Education 2020" was published in the Moldovan Official Paper (Monitorul Oficial) today.
The strategy presents the assessment of the present situation of the Moldovan education system, identifies main problems of the system, selects and proposes solutions to their solving, so that the educational system to become “the principal factor of economic and social progress of Moldova.”
Under the document, among the strategy's goals are: ensuring sustainable development of the educational system, increasing access to education to all children and young people, increasing efficiency of spending public money invested in education and expanding the training system of adults during the life.
The authorities are set, till 2020, to increase by 100 per cent the quota of inclusion in the 12-year general compulsory education of people up to the age of 19, by 10 per cent the quota of pupils acceding vocational education, by 20 per cent the quota of higher education graduates among people aged between 30 and 34, and to reduce the number of children placed in residential institutions and school abandonment.
