Romanian government to donate books to Moldovan education institutions

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/- Five higher education institutions in Moldova will receive books from the Romanian government next week . This is the first donation of book of the last 20 years, which is estimated at 15,000 euros.
Deputy Culture Minister Igor Sarov today noted that the donation was on behalf of the Department for Romanians Abroad within the government from Bucharest. The consignment comprises 259 books from 15 Romanian prestigious publishing houses.
The books will be distributed to the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, State University and I. Creanga State Pedagogical University from Chisinau, Alecu Russo State University from Balti and Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu State University from Cahul.
At the same time, Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Marius Lazurca said that the National Plan on Restoration of Historical Monuments could include buildings from Moldova.
During the past two months, the Romanian government also donated 1 million euros for restoration of the Organ Hall in Chisinau and 1 million euros for renovation of the National Art Museum. Other 800,000 euros had been earmarked for the repair of the Cahul-based Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Theatre.
