Canadian parliament welcomes Moldova's European choice, adopts special motion

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - Canadian Parliament has adopted, by unanimous vote of all parliamentary factions, a motion in support of the democratic reforms and European integration of Moldova for the first time ever, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The text of the motion reads:
"This parliament reiterates Canada’s continued support for freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law throughout the world;
Reiterates its commitment to the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders of Moldova;
Encourages Moldova's efforts to accelerate progress in democratic reforms;
Supports Moldova's sovereign right to choose partnerships without constraints or pressure from outside;
Notes the signing of the EU – Moldova Association Agreement on 27 June 2014 and of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Zone and the ratification of the agreement on 2 July 2014;
and
Welcomes Moldova’s choice to follow the path of European integration."
Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Iulian Groza, who is on a working visit to Canada, was a guest at the ceremony of adopting the motion.
