Moldovan president chairs meeting of Supreme Security Council

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti chaired a meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS) today, the presidential press service has reported.
The CSS members took notice of the actions undertaken for holding the parliamentary polls due on 30 November, strictly according to the legal provisions, so that the right of citizens to freely exercise their right to vote be ensured.
The representative of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry presented a report on the conditions for carrying out the poll at the voting stations abroad.
Timofti was informed about the actions taken by the state's competent institutions, in order to prevent and discourage possible destabilising actions by some forces and persons, acting against the interests of Moldova.
The state law-enforcement bodies were given the task to undertake all legal measures, in order to ensure the law and order and counteract any type of destabilising actions, both on the eve of the elections and on the post-electoral period.
The Council members highlighted the need to inform people about the capacity of the state's institutions to ensure a good organisation of the parliamentary polls and law and order and order in the electoral period, as well as the request not to be influenced by possible provocations of extremist forces.
