Over 3 million Moldovans have right to vote

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 3.226.446 citizens with the right to vote are recorded in Moldova, according to data by the State Register of Voters (RSA), made public by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today.
All Moldovan citizens who reached the age of 18 and are to turn 18 on the date of elections are included in the above-mentioned register. About 211,000 of them are domiciled in the territorial administrative units that are temporarily out of the control of the Moldovan constitutional authorities. According to CEC, these people previously have not been registered as electors in Moldova. Another 171,000 Moldovans with the right to vote have no domicile or residence at present. These citizens also have not been registered previously as voters either.
Basic electoral lists, including 2.844.065 voters, were printed out and distributed to the local public authorities and hierarchically inferior electoral bodies for the 30 November polls.
Most Moldovan electors – 36 per cent - are between 18 and 35 years old. Another 32 percent are aged between 50 and 75. The quota of people who are between 35 and 50 years old is of 27 per cent. About 5 per cent of voters are over 75 years old. After the last 2011 local general polls, the number of persons who reached the age of 18 and will vote for the first time is about 184,000.
CEC reminds that 3.1 million ballot papers will be printed for the 30 November elections.
