Moldovan, Chinese officials broach economic cooperation

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Economics Minister Valeriu Triboi had a meeting with representatives of the Chinese embassy in Chisinau on 26 November. The officials discussed the economic cooperation between Moldova and China.

According to the Economics Ministry's information and media communication service, the meeting took place in the context of the appointment of a new economic and trade adviser at the Chinese embassy in Moldova, Xuejun Song. He took over the office from Tongai Xu, who was in a five-year diplomatic mission in Moldova.

Triboi highlighted the good relations between the two countries. He thanked for the support provided by the diplomatic mission for developing the economic ties between Moldova and China.

The deputy minister expressed confidence that, once the new adviser appointed, "we will further have a fruitful cooperation, and together will develop new projects meant to strengthen the economic relations between our countries."

For his part, Xuejun Song assured that, in his capacity of economic and trade adviser, he would maintain the dialogue and cooperation with the Economics Ministry to boost the economic cooperation between Moldova and China, in order to promote the commercial exchanges and joint investment projects.

At the same time, Valeriu Triboi thanked former adviser Tongai Xu for his contribution to fostering the commercial and economic ties between the two countries and handed him over a diploma of honour on behalf of the Economics Ministry.
