Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/- The Oeonology Department of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) has been endowed with modern equipment worth about 2.7 million euros, “which will lead to improving the quality of training of the future wine makers”.
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today visited modernised laboratories and classrooms. He said their endowment with quality equipment was an extremely important process, as “without innovation and new technologies, we will never have a quality finished product”.
“The department’s equipment represents an investment not only in laboratories, but also in training highly qualified staff”, Leanca said.
Agriculture and Food Minister Vasile Bumacov reiterated that the wine sector was strategic for Moldova and that, “without the teaching staff, as well as well-trained students, it would not be possible to modernise the sector.”
The money provided for the capital repair of laboratories, classrooms and their equipment with furniture represents a loan from the European Investment Bank via the Wine Way programme.
