Over 4,600 policemen to ensure public order in Moldova on election day

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Over 4,600 policemen will ensure the public order nearby the polling stations all over Moldova on the day of parliamentary elections. The head of the National Patrolling Inspectorate (INP), Marin Maxian, made statements to this effect today.
Thus, on 30 November and the night of 1 December, police operative units will patrol the 1,978 polling stations all over Moldova, at a distance of 100 meters, “in order to react promptly, in case of infringements.”
„On the elections day, the police will inform the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) about the situation in the territory in terms of public order every two hours. At the same time, on the next two days, the police will monitor whether the electoral law is observed and the contenders do not make propaganda,” Maxian said.
Maxian added that 267 breaches had been recorded since the beginning of the electoral campaign, mainly for posting promotional materials in forbidden places, and three criminal files were opened.
